Afsana grew fond of Statistics, Mathematics, and Econometrics during her Bachelor’s and Master’s studies at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, which led her to get enrolled in UNC Charlotte’s School of Data Science. Afsana is a current student in the Master of Science program majoring in Data Science and Business Analytics and is looking forward to graduating in Spring 2022. Afsana received Graduate Assistantship grants in 2021 and worked as Teaching Assistant in UNC Charlotte’s Data Science program. She has become very passionate about Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Cloud Computing. Afsana has started her career at Wells Fargo Charlotte and is currently working in Cross-Domain Analytics and Services as a Technology Program Analyst in 2021. She is contributing to building several Enterprise Data Products in Risk and Finance domain across the bank using big data cloud technologies. Afsana has received the Duke of Edinburg International Awards (2016-2018) due to community engagement and contribution to several campus activities and clubs during her academic life. She has been awarded membership to the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi in 2022 based on her record of academic excellence. During her free time, Afsana tries to learn new things. She likes to paint, read fantasy fiction, go hiking, do yoga, play badminton, learn French, practice hand-on labs, and play with data.
